Senior Art: Line Etching Printmaking
Date: Tuesdays; April 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th and MAY 6th
Time: 1:00pm-3:00pm
Place: Room 18
This is a FREE art program for senior citizens ONLY.
**All Supplies will be provided but it is encouraged to bring your own supplies.
This month, the class will entail working with copper plates for printmaking. Learning the following method: cleaning and buffing the plate, applying hard ground, using ferric acid, etching on the plate, applying ink, wiping the plate, and utilizing the printing press to create an image.
**WARNING** Solvents comes with a strong scent, if you are sensitive to smells please keep this in mind when signing up.
Skill Level Needed: No experience!
About the Instructor: Margi Schindele
Margi Schindele studied art at CAL State University in Long Beach California. She puts her thoughts and feelings down on paper, through the art of Printmaking. Mark-making is an expression of freedom which resonates with her. To be able to make multiples and additions is rewarding and she looks forward to sharing her technical skills with her students, while using the printing press.
