Getting Clear on Love: Cyanotype Workshop for February Third Friday
In collaboration with salt mark studios:
Learn to create your own cyanotype - one of the first photographic methods ever developed.
Students will receive pre-treated watercolor paper as their blank canvas, and have hundreds of stencils, slides, and dried organic matter to choose from for creation of their "printed collage". Students will also have chalk markers at their disposal to write and draw freehand. Instructors will provide insight on the process of arranging a design, exposing the piece to UV light, and rinsing it with water to complete the piece.
Create your mini print on paper that can become a heartfelt collage or pocket journal. Take inspiration in this workshop from the 10 different types of love described by ancient Greeks.
This is a drop-in workshop, so students are welcome to come between the hours of 6pm and 9pm. It will be held at the Measurement Inc Building Pop-Up Space at 423 Morris Street in Durham.
Upon arrival, attendees will have the choice of working on two smaller pieces of paper, or one larger piece of paper. Additional paper sizes can be purchased in person for $5, $7 or $10 while supplies last.
