Adult Learn to Sail Advanced and Basic - Tuesdays
WELCOME
Get ready to set sail on an exciting adventure with Adult Learn to Sail! Join us for a summer of non-stop fun and learning as you sail on the beautiful waters of Lake Saint Clair. This training is in-person and hands-on in the classroom and out on the water. It is hosted at the Crescent Sail Yacht Club located at 276 Lake Shore Drive in Grosse Pointe Farms. This course is designed for students with sailing experience and the ability to sail out of and into the harbor under sail. Our knowledgeable instructors will guide you through advanced concepts of sailing and help you improve on your basic skills.
Inside classroom "shore" classes begin in May for all students. Tuesday, May 13, and Tuesday May 20, from 7:00 - 9:00pm. Shore classes are in the main club house meeting room. These classroom sessions will provide a introduction to sailing, boat rigging, knot tying, safety and discussion of how the sailing classes will be organized.
Outside sailing "water" classes begin the week of June 9th and run for 11 weeks through August 24. Sessions begin promptly at 6:00pm and end at 9:00pm. Students are encouraged to stick around after class to share learning experiences. These are hands-on sessions. A new skill is taught each week.
