A 3-Day Botanical Printing Immersion with Lisa Binkley

Step into the world where science and art intertwine. In this luminous three-day workshop, artist Lisa Binkley guides you through the fascinating process of printing with plants — revealing the hidden color chemistry that turns leaves and flowers into works of art.

Working with mordants, tannins, and iron, you’ll explore how natural materials interact with fiber to create richly layered botanical prints on cloth. Each participant will focus on a single, meaningful plant and watch its transformation through dye, print, and stitch — an intimate conversation between nature and maker.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll have created a collection of botanical samples and bound them into a stitched fabric sample book — part reference, part art object, and a personal record of your creative discoveries.

Ideal for nature lovers, textile explorers, and anyone drawn to the quiet beauty of plant alchemy, this workshop offers an inspiring immersion in process, pattern, and the natural world.

Studio Environment
Create in Aya’s spacious, light-filled fiber art studio in Stuart, Florida — a place designed for comfort, focus, and inspiration. Each participant enjoys ample personal workspace (never more than two per 4′×8′ table) with power, USB access, and full use of dye and stitching facilities.

Begin each morning with fresh coffee, tea, and pastries, and enjoy personalized lunch pickups from favorite local cafés. During retreat weeks, the group often gathers for an optional dinner at a waterfront restaurant, celebrating community and creativity by the sea.
