April School Vacation Camp - PRINTMAKING (Tuesday)

2025 APRIL SCHOOL VACATION CAMP DETAILS:

Tuesday, April 15th

9:00 am - 2:00 pm

Young creatives (grades 1-4) will learn about classic and contemporary artists while building their artistic skills and confidence printmaking.

This class delves into exploratory printmaking processes. As an art form, printmaking is a method for creating repeated designs or images using prepared plates, blocks, or stencils. Ink is applied to a surface that has been manipulated in some way, either carved, built upon, or stenciled. When the pressure is applied to the inked surface, a beautiful design is transferred onto paper!

Students will exercise their creative muscles, experimenting with mark-making and pattern using found objects/recycled materials coated in ink. They will also have the opportunity to create their own monotypes (a surface that only yields one, unique printed image) using paint and stencils, and handmade, personalized stamps for printing beyond the classroom!

Students should pack a lunch and wear comfortable clothing that they can get messy in.
