'Handmade Cast Paper Sculpture' Workshop Series (3 Class Workshop)

Class Dates: Tuesday, May 13th, Wednesday, May 14th and Friday, May 16th
In this workshop with Lisa May Tobin, you will make 3-dimensional artwork using a strong, flexible, light medium: 'PAPER!' If you have ever wanted to create a sculpture? Bronze, stone, and metal aren't materials that are easily manipulated in this workshop series. We will create a 3-dimensional sculptural artwork using the plant fibers cotton and abaca.
In our first class, we will explore the history of paper making, and the artistic applications of the medium and learn the basics of sheet forming, we will build then our armatures that support the handmade paper. In the second class, we will get into the sheet-forming process to apply to our sculpture. In Class 3 we will add the finishing touches, such as paint and decorative materials to enhance and complete our artwork.
