Ladies Team Training
There will also be Team Training for ladies team players and those wanting to play competitive tennis both internally at the club. Sessions will be primarily focused on strategy and matchplay. We will be looking at a variety of doubles areas to help players be more confident and competitive on the match court all derived from the British Doubles System that has seen significant success on the world tour for the past 10 years. Sessions will be led by Stuart Twigg and Tom Oakes from 730-9pm. The sessions will operate bi weekly meaning week one is ladies team training and week two is mens team training etc. Sessions are £12 per session and paid for as a block EG 6 sessions (spread over 12 weeks) = £72.
There will be a free taster session for the ladies team players on 17th March from 7.30 - 9.00pm.
The session dates for the ladies are:
7th April, 28th April, 19th May, 9th June, 23rd June, & 14th July.
So who are the coaches?
Stuart Twigg
An LTA level 5 master coach with 35 years coaching experience. Stuart has worked at all levels of the game from starter grass roots coaching to working with full time players competing internationally inc 5 GB National Champions. Stuart was a keynote speaker at the ITF World Coaches Conference in October 2023 in Colombia. He has represented Staffordshire at every level over the past 40 years and was Staffs mens county captain for 16 years.
Tom Oakes
Tom is an LTA Level 3 coach has been with Impact Tennis since he started his coaching career 5 years ago. Tom heads up the programme at Stafford Grammar School and works full time across the programmes at Great Bridgeford tennis Club and Eccleshall Tennis Club. Tom has played representative tennis at club level for both Etching Hill and Great Bridgeford and has developed players that have competed for Staffordshire. Tom has been part of the Staffordshire County Training programme
