NRMERA Annual Conference 2025, Salt Lake City
This Year's Theme: Education = Hope
2025 is a year of seemingly deepening political and ideological divides. New problems in education are surfacing and old issues are frustratingly persistent. Despite the sometimes crushing opposition, we educators soldier on. At the core, all educational endeavors are acts of hope. Even if our research or teaching exposes troubling, persistent problems, we work, ultimately, with a hope that things can be better. We hope AI will enrich humankind (and not become a dystopian cautionary tale). We hope disparate voices and values can learn to work together. We hope our treatment will improve students' or teachers' lives. We hope administrators can effectively lead. We try, we fail, we study, we get up, and we try again. We share our work and these connections become a source of strength and a way to motivate us to persist in our endeavors. Meetings such as NRMERA buoy us up to continue moving forward.
