Emerge Pathways

The Devising Masterclass is a five-week summer workshop series for high school students focused on collaborative theatre-making. Participants meet twice a week to create, rehearse, and perform an original piece developed entirely by the ensemble.

In devised theatre, there’s no script to start with—just ideas, questions, and the creative energy of the group. Through improvisation, movement, and storytelling, students will co-create a performance that reflects their voices and experiences. Along the way, they’ll sharpen their performance skills, deepen their understanding of ensemble work, and learn how to build a show from the ground up.

This workshop is perfect for both seasoned performers and those brand new to theatre—what matters most is a willingness to collaborate, take creative risks, and try something new.

The process culminates in a fully staged production, giving students the chance to share their work with a live audience. Whether you're passionate about acting, writing, directing, or design, this is a unique opportunity to create something bold, original, and entirely your own.
