CANVAS Dance Arts

A fun approach to ballet where children learn 8-16 count combinations and practice plie, tendu, releve, and small jumps. Rehearse choreography and skip, chasse, and leap to your heart’s content! 

Level I Classes are 50 minutes. Unless invited by the instructor, grown-ups are asked to wait outside the dance studio.

This class is a Full Session and concludes with a stage performance.

Dates: Aug 16, 23, Sep 6, 13, 20, 27 Oct 18, 25, Nov 1, 8, 15, 22, Dec 6 (NO class Aug 30, Oct 4, 11, Nov 29)

**Full Session performing classes participate in our Winter Recital on Saturday, December 13. Your session fee includes: recital participation and a CDA stage apparel item.

Performance Location: McKenna Theater, SF State (map)

Performance Time: TBA midway through the session. Please note siblings or dancers in two classes may participate in separate shows.

On performance day, dancers should provide their own:

• pink leotard
• pink ballet tights
• pink ballet shoes, drawstrings tucked inside
• hair in a bun (recommended) or a tight ponytail

Registration notes

• Dancers take 2 or more years in each Level. Students in Grades 1-3 may enroll in Level I and students in Grades 3+ may enroll in Level I+ or Level II. Level III requires instructor approval to enroll
• Priority registration for the following session will be offered to currently enrolled students (Dancers enrolled in Fall receive priority for the same class in the Spring)
• Register only once, duplicate registrations will not receive a full refund
