Artac - Watercolor - Theme: Is It Warm in Here?
Please note: All Classes are non-refundable.
- Part 1 – From the Beginning
- Part 2 -- High Key and Low Key Paintings
- Part 3 -- Warm and Cool Palettes
Description: This month’s focus is on the amazing variety of ways you can express yourself in watercolor!
Part 1 (8/8) -- How to start painting in watercolor…correctly! Review of brushes, paper, pigments/paints, “the basics” of wet on wet, wet on dry, and drybrush techniques. We will create small sample “vignette” compositions covering all the above. Success!!!
Part 2 (8/15) – High key and low key paintings use a limited palette of values…just think of Monet and Rembrandt! Practice in creating “whites and lights” in your watercolor painting as well, and a range of vibrant and lively darks is the focus of this class.
Part 3 (8/22) – In this class, we will unravel the mystery of the warmth or coolness of a pigment and how to mix warm and cool colors. An absolutely fascinating study of the impact of color!
Please bring a reference photo or drawing from which to work.
