What: Top Design Lab—a hands-on back-to-school fashion workshop

When: Monday, August 11, 2025

• AM Session: 9 AM–12 PM
• PM Session: 1 PM–4 PM
• Full-Day Option: 9 AM–4 PM (It includes supervised lunch hour. Please pack lunch and snack)

Where: Columbus Fashion Academy, 122 N. Grant Ave, Downtown Studio

How It Works: Fashion Artists rotate through creative stations and decide what they want to work on.

✂️ Surface Design & Embellishment Stations

• Fabric Painting (brushes, stencils, freehand)
• Fabric Markers & Tie-Dye Effects
• Iron-On Transfers & Heat-Press Vinyl (simple peel-and-press designs)
• Bleach Art / Reverse Dye (on dark shirts, with careful supervision)
• Sponge or Block Printing

🧵 Textile & Fiber Arts Stations

• Appliqué & Patchwork
• Hand Embroidery & Sashiko Stitching
• Sew-On Patches & Badges
• DIY Fringe, Ruffles & Fabric Flowers Layers
• No-Sew Knotting Techniques
• Iron-on or Sew-on Letters (Initials, Phrases, etc.)

💎 Detailing & Decor Stations

• Bead & Sequin Embellishment
• Studs, Snaps & Fabric-safe Rhinestones
• Lace, Ribbon & Trim Application
• Safety-Pin & Charm Accents

👜 Optional Add-Ons or Crossovers

• Mini Accessories Table (scrunchies, fabric headbands, pins)
• Fabric Scrap Jewelry (braided bracelets or statement pendants)
• Bag Tag or Keychain Customizing (using paint, beads, or fabric scraps)
• Mini Patch-Making Station (kids design their own to iron/sew on)

What to Bring: A favorite tee, sweatshirt, a jacket or sweater to repurpose—or choose from our curated collection of pre-loved tops.
