Blended Certification Course (Online + In-Person Skills Session)

This blended learning course prepares individuals to respond confidently and effectively to medical emergencies involving adults, children, and infants. The online portion allows you to learn at your own pace, while the in-person skills session provides hands-on practice in a supportive environment to ensure competence and confidence.

Course Topics Include:

• CPR for adults, children, and infants
• Proper use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
• First aid for bleeding, burns, sprains, allergic reactions, and more
• Recognition and response to cardiac arrest, choking, and other life-threatening emergencies

Course Format:

• Online learning is self-paced and accessible anytime
• In-person skills check is scheduled after completing the online component

This training is ideal for:

• Workplace safety team members
• Teachers, coaches, and school staff
• Parents, guardians, and caregivers
• Scouting members and leaders, including Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, and adult leaders, troop advisors, den leaders, and merit badge counselors
• Youth-serving organization staff and volunteers

Certification:
Participants will receive a 2-year certification through the Health & Safety Institute (HSI). This training meets OSHA and workplace compliance standards and is recognized by many employers and agencies throughout Louisiana.
