Introduction to Travel Health

Course Overview

This two-day Introduction to Travel Health course is designed for healthcare professionals who wish to develop the knowledge and confidence required to deliver travel health advice and vaccination services within Primary Care.

Travel medicine requires clinicians to assess individual patient risk based on destination, planned activities, medical history and vaccination status. This course provides a structured introduction to travel health consultations, focusing on comprehensive risk assessment, vaccine-preventable travel diseases, malaria prevention and health promotion strategies.

Participants will explore both NHS and private travel vaccine considerations and develop an understanding of how travel health services can be delivered safely and effectively within Primary Care. Teaching reflects current travel health guidance and promotes the use of recognised resources and competency frameworks.
