Get ready to let go, experiment and take chances. Creating an abstract painting is about layering, mark making, using papers, stencils, glazing and playing with values It’s an intuitive process of playing with color, shape and line.

Material list:

• Frog tape
  
• Acrylic Matt gel for paste or pva glue
  
• Acrylic tube paints plus white
  
• Acrylic fluids..dick blick or golden. Get some analogous colors
  
• Acrylic gloss or Matt medium
  
• acrylic glazing medium
  
• Brushes of various sizes. Plus 1” flats from hardware store
  
• Color shaper (block) or old credit card
  
• Waterproof pencils
  
• 3 or 4 squares of good quality watercolor paper 16x16. Or
  
• Several canvases 16x16 or larger
  
• Stencils if you have them
  
• Foam brushes
