Course Description
Connect’s most-requested EMDR course is back with exciting updates. Over the past six years, attendees have consistently shared how valuable the Back to Basics Refresher Course has been and have requested more time to solidify the basics while building confidence with commonly needed modifications for more complex presentations and challenging clinical situations. In response, the Refresher has been expanded to a two-day training to provide a stress-free, in-depth, and highly interactive learning experience. The training will include a dynamic mix of lecture, videos, live demonstration, in-depth case discussion, guided practicum, and ample time for questions and discussion. This EMDR Refresher is designed to clear the cobwebs, increase fidelity to the EMDR model, and keep participants current with updates to the EMDR Basic Training curriculum, including modifications for telehealth. The training will also address how to approach all phases of EMDR Therapy with increased cultural awareness and competence.

About the Presenter
Claire Mauer is an EMDRIA-Approved EMDR Trainer and Consultant known for her clinical expertise and clear, engaging training style. She is committed to providing a supportive, safe, and stimulating environment for learning and practicing new skills. In addition to maintaining an active private practice, Claire has many years of experience providing both virtual and in-person EMDR trainings across the country to diverse groups of therapists working in a wide range of clinical settings. She has provided both basic and advanced consultation to hundreds of EMDR therapists, allowing her to identify common points of confusion and frustration. Claire is passionate about helping therapists and their clients get unstuck so they can build confidence in EMDR therapy and in themselves. She has taught the Back to Basics EMDR Refresher Course multiple times over the past six years and is excited to expand this training to allow for more in-depth discussion and practice.

Detailed Course Overview and Learning Objectives
This workshop is designed for clinicians who have completed an EMDRIA-Approved EMDR Basic Training. The course will review and update key concepts, including Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) case conceptualization, the eight phases and three prongs of EMDR Therapy, development of Target Sequencing Plans for a variety of clinical presentations and settings, and strategies for successful reprocessing, including working with blocking beliefs and cognitive interweaves. Participants will also have the opportunity to strengthen their skills related to resourcing, floatbacks, affect scans, and eye movement desensitization. Practicum experiences are included to help consolidate learning and support skill development.

Attendance Policy
Participants must attend all training days in their entirety and actively participate in all practice exercises in order to receive a certificate of completion for this training.
