Course Overview:
The Advanced Classical Tibetan Reading (Level-III) course is designed for students who wish to enhance their reading proficiency in classical Tibetan literature. This course focuses specifically on the skills required to read and interpret original block print manuscripts, allowing students to engage deeply with the richness of Tibetan literary tradition.

Course Objectives:

• Develop advanced reading skills in classical Tibetan by working with original block print manuscripts.
• Compare and contrast texts from the Kagyur, Tangyur, and other significant shastras with modern typed versions.
• Cultivate an appreciation for the historical and cultural context of Tibetan literature through direct engagement with primary sources.

Course Content:

• Introduction to block print manuscripts: history, significance, and preservation.
• Detailed reading sessions focused on selected texts from the Kagyur and Tangyur, along with various shastras.
• Comparative analysis of block print manuscripts and their modern typed counterparts to understand textual variations and interpretations.

Prerequisites:
