Christian Walking Club

This event is open to everyone, especially new members or those interested in an introduction to Scotland or a first visit to The Highlands. Aviemore, is a delightful town which caters well for differing grades of walkers and, in winter, it is particularly popular with the skiing fraternity. The resort is laid out like an Austrian or Swiss resort and you will find many shops, eateries and a wide range of facilities on your doorstep. We will enjoy differing grades of walks including some interesting and challenging Munros these include Braeriach and Ben Alder. The latter will involve a cycle ride to the start.

We shall also be able to offer some more moderate Corbett walks these will allow you to see the best of the surroundings without too much ascent for example Ben Rhinnes 7.5km and 541m of ascent or Meall a Bhuachaille 8.5km or 543m ascent. These are comparable to average grade Lake District walks and suitable for a person of average fitness. We shall also offer some more moderate walks that allow us to explore the area more comprehensively. We aim, primarily, to be inclusive and to introduce you to the natural beauty of Scotland whilst enjoying Christian fellowship. Aviemore, is nestled in Cairngorm National Park which is designated an area of outstanding beauty.

A few of us will be based at the SYHA Aviemore so you can join us there is you prefer a cheaper option but there may also be other bed & breakfasts or self catering venues that you could easily search for on accommodation.com or unique cottages websites. If you would like to visit other areas such as Fort William or Inverness they can easily be reached by bus. We promise an uplifting and refreshing week in a spectacular environment.
