Optimist full day is for the beginner to advanced sailor. Students will be divided into classes based on experience.

Opti Green is a full day class for the beginner sailor looking to gain singlehanded sailing experience.

In Opti Green, sailors are taught basic sailing and boat handling skills. These will be applied as the season progresses toward participation in a regatta hosted by a local Yacht Club. Opti Green sailors are encouraged to participate in DRYA Junior regattas once they and their coaches feel ready.

Students will be moved out of Green fleet into Opti R/W/B as they advance at the discretion of the coaches. Typically this happens after competing in 5 regattas or scoring 1st-5th in 2 of them, whichever comes first.

CSYC does own a small fleet of OPTI's which are available to charter for the season. Usage fee's and rental agreement's are included in registration. Students are encouraged, but not required to provide their own Opti as they advance.

Opti Red/White/Blue Racing (R/W/B) is a full-day class for our more advanced Opti sailors. Generally, sailors in Opti R/W/B Racing have completed one season in Opti Green, or have the maturity and skill set to race and practice at a higher level.

Opti R/W/B sailors will attend DRYA Junior Regattas with adjusted drop off times and locations.

If you wish to pay by check, please select "Skip Online Payment" on the registration form and send checks to the address below by May 15th. After May 15th only online payment accepted.

Checks from CSYC members may be put directly into the CSA mailbox box.

Note: PAYMENT AND REGISTRATION PACKETS MUST BE RECEIVED TO COMPLETE REGISTRATION. Students may be placed on a waiting list until both payment and completed registration packets are received.
