Stitching Dreams, Building Worlds: Mending and Repair as a Collaborative World Building Practice: Materializing Tiago Gualberto’s The Dream as a Public Infrastructure

Social Making Thursdays are where we make things together as a way of practicing a different way of being. We ask: How can crafting together change the vibe of how we show up? What can collaboration and cross-pollination teach us about ourselves and each other? Social Making Thursdays is not just about learning a new craft for yourself, but about rehearsing ways of being in relationship with materials we use and one another.

Stitching Dreams, Building Worlds: Mending and Repair as a Collaborative World Building Practice: Materializing Tiago Gualberto’s The Dream as a Public Infrastructure

What allows mending to become both a practice of care and a foundation for living and dreaming collectively? Join us to stitch, patch, and embroider pillow cases–each one forming part of a collective “dreaming fort,” an imagined public infrastructure where shared dreams can thrive. Facilitated by crystal bi and Tanya Nixon-Silberg, this intervention explores Tiago Gualberto's The Dream as a Public Infrastructure and how we can tend to our social fabric by repairing and patching communities and systems. We are invited to consider how dreaming together can move us beyond fixing what is broken towards the creation of possibilities for what can be

This workshop will be held on 10/9 from 3pm-6pm at Hibernian Hall in Nubian Square, 184 Dudley St #200, Boston, MA 02119.
