Retraite LHBTQ+
Generosity, virtue, renunciation and patience – four practices that quietly challenge the orientation of our wider cultural norms. These practices push against the promise of fulfillment through individualism and materialism.
Our willingness to go against the grain and explore these practices offers us the opportunity to sit with the discomfort that arises – and discover that we have the capacity to do so. When we take them up as lived practices, as trainings of the heart and mind rather than abstract ethical ideals, they support our growth and move us toward liberation.
These practices are four of the ten Parami, or “perfections,” outlined in Early Buddhism – qualities to be cultivated gradually over lifetime. In this retreat we ll explore these qualities in our daily practice.
Chris Grijns is supporting Rae in this retreat, together with the cook, retreatmanager, retreat administration and volunteers from Sangha Metta.
