Description
Add unique color to your weaving projects with fiber reactive dyes for cotton, tencel, bamboo or silk. This class will focus on warp dyeing, where we blend and overlap colors to create a one-of-kind palette for scarves, linens or yardage.
Immersion dyeing, where an entire skein or cloth is dyed a single color, will also be addressed to create matching wefts. This class is also appropriate for those wanting to learn the basics of fiber reactive dyes for cloth.
The class includes a brief discussion of color mixing, dye safety and dye painting techniques.
Prerequisites for participants:
All levels welcome. Students must be able to prepare their own warps and/or wefts.
Materials to be provided/additional instructions for students:
- Details on preparing warps will be sent before class. If you have a special project, feel free to contact Mary before the class.
