π Your Day Schedule
1. π Morning Session - Advanced Skills Assessment & Theory
The day begins with a comprehensive briefing covering advanced motorcycle dynamics and safety protocols. We'll discuss advanced observation techniques including vanishing points and looking through corners, precision cornering theory including entry-apex-exit positioning, advanced hazard identification and risk management, counter-steering techniques and bodyweight positioning, and understanding your motorcycle's capabilities including tyre grip limits and suspension dynamics. Your helmet will be fitted with communication equipment for real-time coaching throughout the day.
2. ποΈ Morning Practice - Advanced Road Skills
We start with advanced urban riding practice, focusing on precision positioning, advanced observation techniques, and sophisticated communication with other road users. You'll practice advanced slow-speed manoeuvres, emergency braking techniques with ABS engagement, intersection navigation at higher speeds, and group riding formations whilst your instructor provides guidance through helmet communication.
3. π£οΈ Technical Roads & Advanced Cornering
Moving to challenging open-road environments with technical curves and varying road surfaces, we focus on precision cornering techniques including advanced entry positioning, accurate apex identification, and smooth exit execution. You'll learn to use bodyweight for enhanced stability, understand and utilise vanishing points for optimal vision, practice maintaining appropriate speeds for different road conditions, and master counter-steering techniques for precise motorcycle control.
4. π½οΈ Lunch Break & Route Planning
Time to refuel and discuss advanced riding strategies! We'll stop at a cafΓ© along the route where you'll develop plans for longer rides and group riding strategies. Bring your own lunch if you prefer.
5. π Afternoon Session - Specialist Techniques
After lunch, we tackle more challenging roads with higher speed sections and technical challenges. Focus areas include precision cornering on demanding roads, advanced hazard avoidance techniques, group riding in formation, riding with changed weight distribution (pillion/loads), challenging road surfaces (gravel, wet conditions), and advanced overtaking techniques. You'll practice these skills progressively on increasingly technical roads.
6. π¬ Comprehensive Debrief & Assessment Preparation
We return for your detailed debrief covering your advanced riding progression, specific areas for continued development, and guidance on advanced riding assessment preparation if desired. Our CBTA-qualified instructors can answer questions about becoming a Transport Agency-approved assessor and provide insights into advanced riding standards.
