Join us for a two-day workshop exploring relational moments in AEDP therapy.
We will learn through a mixture of lecture, video, a live demo and experiential exercises, beginning with a brief overview of AEDP theory. Then we will explore the therapist–client relationship through an AEDP lens. We will give particular attention to using the therapeutic relationship to rewire the client’s attachment patterns, identify micro-ruptures, and stay with repairs. All of these help us as therapists to harness the full power of relational interventions.

We’ll look at video with clients who relate with ease with the therapist as well as those who are more guarded to learn directly applicable relational interventions across different clients, as well as interventions for when a relational process feels stuck.
You’ll leave with concrete skills aimed at harnessing the present experience within the
therapeutic relationship for clients’ healing and transformation as well as interventions for laying the groundwork for increasing a highly intellectualized/avoidant client’s capacity for experiential and relational work over time. You’ll also have the opportunity to participate in experiential groups to join others in the community in practicing relational work throughout the course.
Hours for this in-person event: Friday May 29, 9 a.m. - 5:15 & Saturday May 30, 9 a.m. - 4:15 p.m.
