Military Pentecostal Resource Leader

The Military Pentecostal Resource Leader (MPRL) course is designed to prepare individuals to be able to serve and assist in ministry along side a chaplain, or a Ministry to the Military Center Director. For those that are seeking to become credentialed in the Church of God, the MPRL certification is a requirement before being able to proceed to the first rank of licensure as an Exhorter. If you are married and seeking to be credentialed, it is a requirement that your spouse also go through the MPRL course.

Please pay and register before 19 June 2026, so that you will be able to receive your manual in time. For those needing to pay in Euros, or do not have a debit card, please see the note below on how to transfer funds using IBAN.

Here are the steps to begin your journey towards becoming a MPRL candidate.

  1. Complete your application on this site, and pay the cost for your course and manual.
  2. Submit a letter of recommendation from your pastor, center director, or chaplain, and another letter of recommendation. These can be emailed to: greg.smith@freedomworshipcenter.de
  3. After your registration has been approved, your manual will be mailed to the address you provided.
  4. You will receive an invite to join Google Classrooms. This is where a class calendar will be displayed along with all assignments. You will also be able to view the required video classes from within our Google Classroom. There will be an informative video you will be able to watch to orientate you to the course and a video on how to use Zoom. Please note, that all assignments must be completed in order to complete the course.

The MPRL course uses four basic elements that Jesus used in training his disciples. We are using this model in our training of the Pentecostal Resource Leader.

  1. Formal Training: The student reads, studies, attends online lectures/workshops and completes assignments to familiarize him/her with the core curriculum.
  2. Informal Training: The student is assigned a mentor. He/she works with a more mature and experienced leader, minister or chaplain while continuing their studies.
  3. On the Job Training: The student is given “hands-on” ministry assignments while still under the supervision and tutelage of a mentoring pastor/leader/chaplain.
  4. Commissioned and sent forth: But remaining under the watch care and support of a coach.

Below are the course requirements:

  1. There will be two live mandatory seminars that will be hosted on www.Zoom.us. More information will be in the Google Classroom on connecting using Zoom. These two seminars will cover the following topics and the dates will be announced at a later time:

      2. Seminar 2. Sharpening Your People Skills, DISC, Spiritual Gift Survey & Military Ministry Methods
  1. You will be required to view online classes on Google Classroom. These video-on-demand classes will cover ministry practices, and also teaching on stewardship.
