OBX Waterways: A Virtual Tour from the Boater's Perspective

This 2-hour Zoom seminar provides boaters with limited experience of the OBX waterways a virtual tour of the area from the boater’s perspective. The seminar tour will be presented using OpenCPN electronic navigation software and Google Earth to “fly over” the Outer Banks and familiarize new boaters with the many interesting waterways, attractions, and yes, some danger areas. We will familiarize you with the layout of the waterways, including sounds, rivers, channels, and marinas. We will answer some questions like:

  • Where can I launch the boat?
  • What is there to see?
  • Where can I shop and have lunch?
  • Where do I get fuel?
  • Where can I swim and enjoy water sports?
  • And maybe: Where can I catch a few fish?

The seminar will tour:

OBX North to South from the Virginia State Line in the Currituck Sound to the North Pamlico Sound (and maybe a litter farther)
