You will learn about:

• The importance of climate reporting and the role it plays in addressing climate change
• The shift to a more holistic climate reporting approach that includes human and biodiversity dimensions
• Explain key components of climate reporting, including greenhouse gas emissions, transition plans and adaptation strategies
• Why reporting only on climate-related risks isn’t enough
• How the GRI Standards, the IFRS (and AASB) sustainability disclosure standards complement each other in providing a comprehensive climate reporting framework
• The common challenges in climate reporting and explore best practices

This module will contribute to one Continuing Education Unit (CEU) to further your certification under the GRI’s Professional Certification Program. However, you are not required to participate in the Professional Certification Program when undertaking this course.

Pre-requisites:

There are no specific knowledge prerequisites for the course, however, we recommend that you familiarise yourself with the GRI Standards, the IFRS sustainability disclosure standards and the AASB climate-related disclosure standards.
