Ninety Twenty Workshop

This hands-on class covers the foundational techniques of metalsmithing. Learn to use hand tools such as a jeweler’s saw to pierce shapes from sheet metal while using these components to create jewelry or other metal art. We will thoroughly cover the use of torches and silver solder to fabricate jewelry such as rings, pendants for necklaces, and earrings. Building up your “torch confidence” by soldering metals like silver, copper, and brass will bring a new dimension to your work! Focus will also be on metal finishing techniques from filing and sanding to simple patinas and flex shaft polishing.
