'Introduction to Photography' Creating Art with Mindfulness
Picture this (pun absolutely intended): two hours where the world slows down, your shoulders drop an inch, and you get to look at life through a kinder, more curious lens.
Intro to Photography: Seeing the World, One Frame at a Time
Join photographer Mike Dooley for a welcoming, no-ego-allowed photography workshop designed for absolutely anyone who wants to make better pictures and enjoy the process along the way. Whether your camera cost $20 or $2,000, whether you're dreaming of gallery walls or just want to take photos that make your friends say “Wow,” this class is for you.
We’ll explore how photography can become a mindful practice: a way to quiet the racing brain and tune in to the moment in front of you. You’ll learn simple, powerful techniques to refine your vision, see light differently, and bring more intention and emotion into your images. And yes, there will be tips and tricks to level up your photos immediately, no jargon required.
Expect conversation, creativity, and a few laughs along the way. Bring whatever camera you have: your phone, a point-and-shoot, film camera, DSLR, mirrorless, or the one you dug out of the junk drawer this morning. If it takes pictures, it belongs here.
Come curious. Leave inspired. Start seeing beauty in everyday moments, one frame at a time.
