Presentation of the High Risk Model of Threat Perception(Wickramasekera 1979,1995, Brain Sciences ,2025).
10 empirically established Biopsychosocial RISK FACTORS that AMPLIFY OR REDUCE mind-Body effects in Medicine ,Surgery and Health Care will be presented.
The 10 Biopsychosocial Risk Factors ( eg High & Low Social Support, High Catastrophizing, High and Low trait Hypnotizability,ect) appear to Modulate( turn on and off) the Pavlovian Learning of , Placebo and Nocebo effects and Chronic Functional Somatic Disorders in Medicine and Surgery and Primary and specialist medical care.
Some of these RISK FACTORS will be measured with both psychological and biological measures ( Electrodermal skin conductance (EDR), Hand Temperature,Heart Rate Variability(HRV) in all students in the class
.Students will also be able to observe or volunteer to have their own Reactivity to Stress (threat perception ) measured with EDR,HRV,Temperature(blood flow) .
Autogenic Training to reduce psychological and physiological STRESS(threat perception) will be demonstrated and learned by students.
