What they will learn:

In this advanced course, students will learn to research, write, and deliver original 10-minute Informative Speeches that educate and engage audiences. They’ll explore how to select compelling topics, craft clear and well-supported arguments, and integrate visual aids effectively. Students will also refine their speechwriting style, pacing, and delivery techniques to meet competitive standards while maintaining authenticity and audience connection.

How it applies to the real world:

Informative speaking builds students’ ability to analyze information, communicate complex ideas clearly, and present with confidence—skills essential for leadership, academics, and professional success. It teaches students how to share knowledge persuasively and connect with diverse audiences through credible research and engaging storytelling.

Deliverable:

By the end of the course, students will develop and perform a polished 10-minute Informative Speech, complete with optional visual aids. They’ll receive detailed feedback on research, organization, and presentation to prepare for tournament competition or advanced public speaking opportunities.

*Prerequisite: Students enrolling in this class must have taken at least 1 semester of Art of Public Speaking, Introductory Limited Prep, or completed advanced Little Orator classes.
