Little Orator Competitive (Limited Prep) (2nd-3rd)
What they will learn:
Students in this class will practice thinking on their feet and delivering short speeches with minimal preparation time. They will learn how to respond to prompts, form their own opinions, support their ideas with reasons and evidence, and speak clearly and confidently in front of others, without relying on notes or scripts. Students will participate in internal and external tournaments to apply and refine their skills.
How it applies to the real world:
Impromptu speaking helps students express themselves clearly in unexpected situations, think critically and form well-supported opinions, and build confidence in sharing their ideas, valuable skills for classroom discussions, group projects, presentations, and everyday conversations.
Deliverable:
By the end of the course, students will present timed impromptu speeches on age-appropriate topics and receive feedback to celebrate their progress and prepare for future speaking opportunities.
*Prerequisite: Students enrolling in this class must have taken Little Orator Essentials A & B classes.
