IDPA Safety Officer (SO) Course. 

We need certified Safety Officers! 

Eligibility:

• Over 21 years of age?
• Been a member of IDPA for more than 6 months?
• Participated in at least six matches?
• Looking to give back to the sport?

Taught by the awesome Patrick Flores, National PCC Champion, muliti-time presenter at Rangemaster and ASP National Conferences, unpaid Spokesperson for Uncrustables and Red Bull, and all around great guy!

Benefits: 

• Chief Safety Officers running a squad get their first entry to Bandera and Texas Tactical Matches free!
• If you instruct others in firearms use, SO experience is hugely helpful in calmly controlling a single student, or running a line.

"Why the heck do you want to be an SO?”

“It’s an opportunity to watch some really good shooters close up, meeting a lot of great people who share a common sport and enjoy it, and of course just for the fun of shooting.

I’ve had the opportunity to be an SO for some master shooters that not only inspire me to shoot better and were eager to share their approach to shooting the stage with me. 

And I’ve watched new shooters grow from coming in last to always placing in the top.

One of the most important and critical jobs of the SO is to make sure each new shooter completes the stage safely while managing to put at least a few holes in the correct target."

Requirements:

• Signed SO Candidate Application Form
• SO Candidate pre-class online test with a passing score

What to bring:

• Lunch (Excellent lunch from the Trail Boss is available)
• Note-taking material
• Closed-toe shoes
• Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing.
• A hat
• Work gloves (for set up and teardown)
• Eye an ear protection
• IDPA legal firearm, holster, and ammo pouches
• 50 rounds of ammunition. (you can bring more if you wish)
• IDPA legal concealment garment.

The price of the class includes conference room and range rental fees, but not lunch from the Trail Boss.
