Skills We Will Learn Together

• Core acting skills: spontaneity, character, emotion, status, and responding to offers.
• Introduction to physical comedy and clowning.
• Short-form improvisation and scene work with peers.
• Character creation through collaborative exercises.
• Story-building with a focus on comedic conflict and clear scene premises.
• Comedy tools: heightening, exaggeration, objectives, obstacles, POV, breaking expectations, and timing.
• Developing reflective practice through feedback and guided discussion with the teaching artist.
• Practice newly learned and developed skills in an end of week showing for family and friends.

Age: Students in School Years 7-9 in 2026

Dates: Wednesday 8th - Friday 10th April

Time: 9:30am -12:30pm, daily

FAQ’s

Do I have to book for the whole week?

Yes – students are working towards a showing on the last day, so they need to attend the full week to create and rehearse for the performance.

How much is the course?

This is a free course, however, fees will be applied for late pick up. Please pick up your student promptly or inform the office if they are ok to make their own way home.
