Fast Track CBTA 6F Full Licence – 3.5 hours

Combined training and licence assessment session.

A combined one-on-one training and assessment session to move from a Restricted licence effectively and efficiently to a Full licence.

If you have held a current class 6R (Restricted) motorcycle licence for 9 months you can present for your CBTA 6F Fast Track/Full licence assessment (without having to wait 18 months). Upon successful completion of the assessment, you must wait until the 12^th month of holding your Restricted licence to have a licencing agent endorse your licence to a 6F.

You must be a minimum of 17.5 years of age.

Note: it is NOT mandatory to complete a Ride Forever Silver course before sitting your CBTA Fast Track/Full assessment.

You must provide a fully roadworthy and legal LAMS approved motorcycle for the assessment. It must have a current WOF and registration. The tyres should be inflated to the manufacturer’s recommendation, and you should have enough fuel for the duration of the assessment. If you do not have a suitable motorcycle, then a few of the motorcycle shops in Dunedin can hire them to you for the duration at a reasonable cost by prior arrangement.

The CBTA 6F Fast Track and assessment:

• Introduction and overview of assessment requirements.
• Intensive one-on-one on-road training.
• An assessment ride approximately 30 minutes and 21 Kms long.
• You will be followed by a NZTA approved assessor and communication will be conducted via an intercom fitted to your helmet (included in the cost).
• All appropriate elements of your riding will be assessed against predefined criteria.
• The assessment route includes urban, rural and motorway riding.
• It is focused on open roads (higher speed zones).
• A full debrief of your ride with any recommendations for improvement made clear.
• A rest/refreshment break can be provided part way if required.

Upon successful completion, you will be issued with a NZTA 6F certificate that you can exchange for a 6F Full licence at a licencing agent.
