Point Poetics

Step into a space of artistry, intuition, and energetic storytelling. This month, we explore Point Poetics, discovering the language of acupuncture points as expressive, resonant gateways for transformation. Drawing inspiration from the work of Debra Kaatz, we will dive into the subtle interplay between points, intervals, and intention—learning to “listen” to the story each point tells and translate it into a fluid, meaningful session.

We will begin with an exploration of point selection as a form of poetic expression, considering how points can convey rhythm, emotion, and narrative. Then we’ll move into practical applications, experimenting with sequences, intervals, and combinations that honor the story of the body and the energy flowing through it. Bring your list of points you want to learn more about or experience a deeper resonance with. Together we’ll select a few to explore in depth, experiencing their energies, poetic qualities, and practical applications in session work.

What We’ll Explore

1. The Language of Points
   Learn to interpret the messages of acupuncture points and understand their poetic, energetic qualities. Explore how the Five Elements, archetypes, and intention shape the story each session tells.
2. Crafting Sessions Through Poetics
   Discover how to design sequences and select intervals that enhance expression, harmony, and transformation. Learn to balance structure with intuition to create sessions that resonate deeply.
3. Collaborative Exploration & Q&A
   Share your reflections, questions, and ideas. Together we’ll explore creative combinations, experiment with sequences, and refine approaches to make your sessions expressive, effective, and deeply attuned.
