The 1920s was a wild, tumultuous, violent decade. In reality the decade would more accurately be termed “The Roaring 20s, This instructor-developed course by Dr. Dan Scheuerer, the 2017 Florida American History Teacher of the Year, will roar through various aspects of the decade highlighted by numerous illustrations. Topics will include fads/flappers/heroes, the Red scare and labor unrest, immigration and race relations, evangelism and the “Monkey Trial,” the fiasco of Prohibition, the economic boom and bust on “Black Friday,” and Hoover’s “rugged individualism. Because of the instructor’s travel plans the Monday, January 13 will not be held (sorry!).
