Description:
Are you looking to take your rigid heddle weaving to the next level? Why not explore double-heddle weaving! In this two-day class we’ll explore how to get the diagonals, zig zags and diamonds of twill patterns in your woven structure by using TWO heddles at once. You’ll create a sampler or set of mug rugs exploring all the different twill options on rigid heddle looms.
Prerequisites for participants:
This is an intermediate/advanced class. Students should already be familiar with rigid heddle weaving. Threading multiple heddles for twill requires attention to detail, so be prepared. We will go over the steps for warping a loom together as a refresher, but it is expected that you know the basics of weaving on your own.
Materials to be provided by/additional instructions for students:
- Students must bring a rigid heddle loom, along with TWO size 12 heddles and warping pegs to this class.
- Please bring a lunch or snack if you would like. Access to a refrigerator and microwave are available in the building.
