Important Dates/Information

• Saturday, August 22nd from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

• $10 to cover handout, fusible interfacing, flex frame, and assortment of trim and lining fabrics for one glasses case, payable to the instructor on the first day of class.
• If you want to sew more than one case, you may purchase additional materials from the instructor.

Registration opens at 12:00 noon: Tuesday, June 23rd

Registration deadline: Saturday, August 8th

Cancellation deadline: Thursday, July 23rd

Location: Room #3 at the Triangle Fiber Arts Center

Description

• In this half-day class, we will review best practices when sewing with handwoven fabrics. Students will then make a glasses case that snaps closed with a flexible frame.

Prerequisites for participants

• Intermediate class. Participants should feel comfortable sewing with handwoven fabrics and be able to sew a consistent 1/8” seam.

• Sewing machine with standard foot
• 2 pieces of handwoven fabric for each case you’d like to make; at least 5” x 8”
• Matching thread, sharp scissors, pins.

*The guild has 1 sewing machine that would be available for someone to use. Please indicate if you would like to use the Guild sewing machine on the registration form.

Please bring a lunch or snack if you would like. Access to a refrigerator and microwave are available in the building.
