Important Dates/Information

• Sunday, September 20th from 1:00 - 5:00 pm

• $10 to cover handout, fusible interfacing, flex frame, and assortment of trim and lining fabrics for one glasses case, payable to the instructor on the first day of class.
• If you want to sew more than one case, you may purchase additional materials from the instructor.

Registration opens at 12:00 noon: Tuesday, July 21st

Registration deadline: Sunday, September 6th

Cancellation deadline: Friday, August 21st

Description

• In this half-day class, we will review best practices when sewing with handwoven fabrics. Students will then make a glasses case that snaps closed with a flexible frame.
• The skills taught in this class can also be applied to make other small cases such as coin purses.

Prerequisites for participants

• Intermediate class. Participants should feel comfortable sewing with handwoven fabrics and be able to sew a consistent 1/8” seam.

• Sewing machine with standard foot
• 2 pieces of handwoven fabric for each case you’d like to make; at least 5” x 8”
• Matching thread, sharp scissors, pins.

Please bring a lunch or snack if you would like. Access to a refrigerator and microwave are available in the building.
