Reading Matters: Using Perusall to Engage Students in Course Readings

Social annotation tools--digital platforms that allow students to read and discuss texts or images collaboratively--can be a great way to engage students in the act of reading and provide accountability for completing readings before class. Come hear from two UR colleagues, Kristine Grayson (Biology) and Sandra Joireman (Political Science), who will share the ways they use Perusall (the University's social annotation tool) to support learning in their classes. We'll also allow for plenty of time for discussion and Q&A.

Reading Matters is a series of programs and conversations designed to deepen our understanding of students’ reading habits and to offer practical, actionable strategies for strengthening how we teach reading.
