Defensive Carbine Essentials

Course Description

The Defensive® Carbine Essentials Course is designed to introduce students of any experience level to an efficient, practical method of using a semi-automatic rifle during a dynamic critical incident. All principles and fundamentals from the Intuitive Defensive® Shooting program are directly applied to the defensive carbine.

Students will develop an understanding of true Counter Ambush training, core defensive shooting skills, and a training methodology that supports continued growth long after the course concludes.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the course, students will be able to:

• Apply Intuitive Defensive® Shooting fundamentals to the carbine platform.
• Utilize efficient rifle handling and manipulation under dynamic conditions.
• Understand and implement Counter Ambush concepts with a defensive firearm.
• Demonstrate essential defensive shooting skills that balance speed and precision.
• Continue practicing and refining defensive carbine skills independently.

What do I need to bring?

• Lunch, snacks, plenty of water (we are not near any restaurants)
• Defensive Carbine (Pistol Caliber Carbines are fine)
• Carbine zeroed at 50 yards (if you are unsure, please arrive at 0830 and we can check them.)
• Backup rifle (optional)
• 3 - 4 magazines
• Sling (we can provide slings with some notice)
• 400-500 rounds ammunition (we can have it provided day of class if you need it at market prices, but we need to know ahead of time)
• Eye and ear protection (Electronic Ear Pro preferred)
• Weather appropriate clothing including a hat

Our Cancellation Policy at Get Trained Be Ready is as follows:

Our policy is that all payments are non-refundable, but if a student is unable to attend and advises us prior to the day of the class that he or she is unable to attend, we will retain the payment on their behalf for a period of one year from the date of the class as a credit towards any class that we teach in an amount equal to their payment.

However, we limit all class sizes. If you want to attend a later class and notify us after that class is already full, then you will have to wait for another class.
