About this Certification Series:

Join this transformative EMDR Certification Group Series led by Cherilyn Rowland Petrie, EMDRIA Approved Consultant along with EMDR Facilitator, Wes Francois. Advance your EMDR skills in a supportive, professional group designed to guide clinicians in achieving proficiency in all eight phases of the EMDR model. Refine case conceptualization through the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) lens, treatment planning, and enhance your ability to provide effective treatment for simple to moderately complex cases while maintaining fidelity to the EMDR Therapy Standard Protocol.

Consultees are expected to have active, appropriate clients for EMDR and must be prepared to present a case at every consultation group session. This ensures a hands-on, practical approach to mastering EMDR therapy and applying it effectively in clinical practice.

This group provides the maximum of 10 hours of group consultation allowed by EMDRIA toward certification. EMDRIA requires an additional 10 hours of individual consultation, which can be arranged separately. You may choose to join the group alone or purchase a package that includes either five or 10 individual consultation hours. Individual consultation hours will be scheduled flexibly to accommodate your practice and pacing needs.

Meet your Consultants:

Cherilyn became a Florida Qualified Supervisor in 2006 and was credentialed as an EMDRIA-Approved Consultant in 2013. She is an adjunct faculty member at the Rollins College Masters in Counseling program, where she teaches a seminar on Treating Adult Trauma Survivors.

For 20 years, Cherilyn worked as a therapist and then Clinical Supervisor for the Mental Health Team at Kids House, a Children’s Advocacy Center in Seminole County, Florida. There, she specialized in using EMDR Therapy to treat children and adolescents who have experienced early trauma, attachment injury, and neglect, and who have complex clinical presentations.

Now in private practice, Cherilyn remains committed to training others to meet the needs of these traumatized children. She believes in supporting other professionals as they navigate the learning curve of EMDR Therapy and is excited about helping them find creative and effective ways to intervene in the lives of children.

Cherilyn understands the needs of community mental health agencies and the investment they make in training. She is dedicated to helping agencies develop working environments that foster retention of EMDR-trained staff.

Westly François is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Georgia and Florida, EMDR Certified Therapist, EMDRIA Consultant-in-Training, and Facilitator for EMDR Basic Training. He is the founder of Healthy Mind, Healthy Heart Counseling and Consulting, LLC, where he specializes in treating trauma, adverse life experiences, anxiety, and depression through EMDR therapy.

Westly has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including community mental health, schools, and private practice, providing him with a well-rounded perspective on client care and treatment needs. He is a Qualified Supervisor, supporting MSW graduates on their path toward licensure, and is especially dedicated to making mental health services and EMDR therapy more accessible to minority and underrepresented communities, while also mentoring clinicians of color to advance in the field.

In addition to his clinical practice, Westly provides supervision and consultation to therapists working toward EMDR certification. He has a strong passion for helping clinicians grow in their confidence and effectiveness with the AIP model.

Westly believes strongly in the ability of EMDR to create lasting healing and resilience, and he is committed to making these resources more accessible to both clients and clinicians across diverse communities.

What to Expect:

In Consultation for Certification, we work together to achieve proficiency in all phases of the EMDR model, refine case conceptualization and treatment planning, and increase your capacity to provide comprehensive treatment for simple to moderately complex cases while maintaining high fidelity to the EMDR Therapy Standard Protocol. Video of your work with clients will be required.

The group is meant to fulfill the 10 hours of group consultation toward Certification allowed by EMDRIA. EMDRIA requires a minimum of 10 additional hours of individual consultation. You can choose to join only the group, or to purchase a package of either five or 10 hours of individual consultation with Cherilyn in addition to the group. Individual hours will be scheduled with Cherilyn on a flexible timeline that meets each Consultee's needs for practice and pacing.

It's important to note that each recommendation for EMDRIA Certification is based on demonstrated mastery of EMDR's Standard Protocol and the Adaptive Information Processing Model in addition to completion of the required minimum consultation hours.
