Event Overview – Maeve’s 8th Birthday Fashion Party

Date & Time: Saturday, January 10, 2:00–4:00 p.m.
Location: Columbus Fashion Academy Creative Studio (located on CCAD campus, former Studio Hall building)

For two magical hours, Maeve and her guests will experience pure creative flow in our fashion studio, with artistic freedom at the center of everything.

• Arrival & Welcome (5–10 minutes)
  Guests are welcome to arrive starting at 1:50 p.m. so we can begin right at 2:00 p.m. We’ll greet the kids, go over simple studio guidelines, and introduce them to the materials and possibilities for their projects.
• Creative Studio Time – Kids as Agents of Their Own Projects (1 hour 40-50 minutes)
  Each child becomes the designer of their own project. We guide them with age-appropriate support while still honoring their artistic freedom—they choose what to create and how.
  Examples of projects that can be completed within a two-hour party include:
  • Sewing and decorating aprons, mini tote bags, or pouches
  • Simple embroidery projects
  • Fabric painting detailing design
  • Accessories and jewelry making using fun and sustainable materials
• Our team circulates to help each guest problem-solve, design, and finish their project. Everyone leaves with one personally made piece to take home.
• Wrap-Up & Pick-Up (5–10 minutes)
  We help kids put final touches on their creations, label and pack them, and get ready for pick-up.
  This is a drop-off party: parents drop off at 2:00 p.m. and pick up at 4:00 p.m. sharp. There is no separate time built in for cake, snacks, or a runway show—this session is fully dedicated to hands-on creating.

Parking & Access:

• Off-street parking is available in our corner lot at Grant Ave & Long St for quick drop-off and pick-up.
• You can also pull up right by the studio front door for direct entry.
• A sandwich-board street sign with balloons will be placed outside our door for easy identification.

Parents of the birthday child are welcome to relax in our reception area if they wish, but it is not required for adults to stay on-site during the party. Parents of the birthday child are welcome to stay in our reception area during the party, or, if they prefer to explore nearby, we’re just a short walk from Charm’s Market, Brioso Café, and the Columbus Museum of Art—all within about one to two blocks of our studio.

Party Policies

Booking & Payment

• A non-refundable security deposit is required to reserve your party date and time. This deposit is applied toward the total party cost.
• The remaining balance is due no later than 7 days before the event date. If payment is not received by this deadline, the studio reserves the right to release the date.

Cancellations & Refunds

• The security deposit is non-refundable under all circumstances, as it holds your specific date and time and covers planning and preparation.
• If you cancel 7 days or more before the event, any amount paid beyond the deposit will be refunded.
• If you cancel fewer than 7 days before the event, no refund is available; however, when possible, we are happy to discuss rescheduling to a new date, subject to studio availability.

Guest Count

• A minimum and maximum number of participants will be agreed upon at booking.
• A final headcount is due 7 days before the party so we can prepare materials and staffing. You will be billed based on this final headcount, even if fewer children attend on the day of the event.

Timing, Drop-Off & Pick-Up

• Studio time for this event is scheduled from 2:00–4:00 p.m.
• Guests may begin arriving at 1:50 p.m. so the activity can start on time.
• This is a drop-off party. Parents/guardians drop off at 2:00 p.m. and return for pick-up at 4:00 p.m.
• Parents of the birthday child are welcome (but not required) to stay in the reception area during the event. Other adults are encouraged to drop off and return at pick-up time.
• Events that run beyond the scheduled time due to late pick-up may incur an additional studio fee, billed in 30-minute increments.

Food, Drinks & Decorations

• Because this is a fully focused creative session, there is no scheduled time for cake, snacks, or food service during the two-hour studio block.
• If families choose to bring a small treat for children to take home (for example, favor bags or packaged sweets), these can be distributed at pick-up, not consumed in the studio.

Supervision & Safety

• Our team is responsible for supervising and guiding the children during the party’s creative activities.
• Parents/guardians of the birthday child may stay in the reception area if they wish, but no adult is required to remain on site for the duration of the event.
• We ask that any known allergies or sensitivities (e.g., to certain materials or adhesives) be shared in advance so we can adapt when possible.
• For everyone’s safety, children must follow studio rules and instructions from staff. If a child is unable to participate safely, we may ask the guardian to support them more directly at future visits.

Photos & Media

• We may occasionally capture photos or short video clips of the creative process and finished projects for our website and promotional materials.
• We will follow our standard media consent practices and respect any family preferences shared in advance.
