Four Day Class - Screen Printing 101 with Olga Joans (NPS)

January 6, 13, 20, 27 (Snow day February 3rd)

During our workshop students will be taken through the basic process of screen-printing on fabric. They will be taught to coat and expose a screen using emulsion and an exposure unit,and how to print with water-based inks to make their own original beautiful prints.We will focus on placement printing with up to 2 screens if students would like to do a 2 colour print.
We will also discuss repeat and yardage printing as information only.The idea here is to focus on learning new skills, whilst creating an end-product, learning and gaining knowledge in the process is key to last a lifetime.
All materials are included.
Schedule for Screen Printing 101:
Prior to class, it would be good that the students have an idea of what artwork they want to create. That students are ready to dive into week 1.
Week 1 Screen printing intro, art creation and coating screens.(At Neighborhood Print Studio)
Week 2 Artwork ready and expose screens.(At Neighborhood Print Studio)
Week 3 Mixing ink and beginning to print. (At Olga Joan Atelier)
Week 4 Continue to print and advice on how to create a final print product.(At Olga Joan Atelier)
