AfterDark GunCraft Course Description

This course is designed to elevate your performance in low-light and no-light environments, blending essential theory with hands-on practical drills. Students will learn how to deploy their weapon system efficiently, manage visual limitations, and apply tactical lighting techniques with confidence and control.

Completion of this course qualifies you for all Alumni Handgun events.

Skills & Concepts Covered

• Understanding eye anatomy and low-light visual performance
• Efficient weapon deployment in reduced-visibility environments
• Effective handheld flashlight search techniques
• Safe and consistent low-light contact protocols
• Using light strategically as a distraction tool
• Low-light firearm handling: loading, unloading, and reloading
• Determining your effective light range and its tactical implications
• Building confidence for real-world defensive performance in the dark
• Optional: Proficiency with weapon-mounted lights

What do I need to bring?

Required items:

• Supper, snacks, and plenty of water
• Defensive Pistol other than Sig P320 ***See note below***
• Backup gun (optional)
• 3 double stack or 5 single stack magazines
• Handheld light that can be easily operated with only one hand
• Headlight with a red LED light option *REQUIRED*
• Spare batteries
• Strong side hip or appendix holster (quality kydex, or a similar type where the top of the holster remains open)
• 500 rounds ammunition (we can have it provided day of class if you need it at market prices, but we need to know ahead of time)
• Eye and ear protection - Electronic Ear Protection STRONGLY recommended
• Weather appropriate clothing

Gear that can withstand rigorous use. We will be spending a lot of time coming out of, and going back to, the holster.

• Handgun mounted laser

After thoughtful consideration, we are prohibiting all Sig P320 variants in our training classes.

We regret doing this, but as issues continue to be documented by the US Military and the FBI, along with other reliable sources, we feel a responsibility to ensure safety and mitigate liability on this particular platform in our classes until such time the potential issues have been resolved by the manufacturer.

Our Cancellation Policy at Get Trained Be Ready is as follows:

Our policy is that all payments are non-refundable, but if a student is unable to attend and advises us prior to the day of the class that he or she is unable to attend, we will retain the payment on their behalf for a period of one year from the date of the class as a credit towards any class that we teach in an amount equal to, or greater than, the payment.

However, we limit all class sizes. If you want to attend a later class and notify us after that class is already full, then you will have to wait for another class.
