Iranian Cultural Foundation Houston

Intermediate Iranian Dance is password-protected and only open to students who have previously mastered Beginner Iranian Dance in a previous semester. 

This intermediate-level class is perfect for dancers who want to expand their skills in both classical and folkloric Iranian dance. Students will build on their foundational training, learning more complex choreography and deepening their connection to the rhythms and traditions of Iran—all in a fun and supportive environment.

Highlights:

1. Technique: Students will refine their movements and coordination as they learn steps and combinations that reflect the beauty and elegance of Iranian dance.
   
   
2. Classical & Folkloric Styles: The instructor will choose from classical Iranian and a variety of folkloric dance styles, including Azari, Bandari, Gilaki, Kordi, Lori, and more based on the class level and ability.
   
   
3. Choreography: Each class includes practice with choreographed pieces. Students will build confidence, expression, and performance skills while learning dances that honor both tradition and artistry.
   
   
4. Cultural Learning: Through costume elements, props, and music, students gain an appreciation for the cultural significance behind each dance and region.
   
   
5. Optional Performance Opportunity: Students will have the opportunity (but are not required) to perform as a group during the ICF Yalda Celebration in December.
   
   
6. What to Bring: Flexible dance shoes and comfortable attire that allows for movement.
