Class date:

• Saturday, September 12th from 1:00 PM - 4:30 PM

Members $42 Non-members $62

Material fee:

• $10 to be paid to the Instructor on the first day of class to cover yarn, patterns and handouts.

Registration opens at 12:00 pm (noon): Tuesday, July 14th

Registration deadline: Saturday, August 29th

Cancellation deadline: Thursday, August 13

Location: Room #3 at the Triangle Fiber Arts Center

Description

Students will dive into more complex tablet weaving skills including working with split pack turns (some tablets rotating forward, while others rotate backwards) and understanding the counting shifts in the pattern needed to work with a more complex pattern.

Note: If the student feels confident enough and wants to work with weighted border cards for continuous forward turns for the border tablets, weights will be available for experimentation.

The instructor will provide all tools, including loom, yarn, tablets/cards, shuttle, and weights, if wanted.

For those who have their own Inkle looms, it is preferable that you use one provided by the instructor during class. If you would like, you may bring your loom, shuttle, yarn and tablets in case you finish early. Kristine will be happy to help you warp it so you can walk away with your next project.

Prerequisites for participants:

• The student should be comfortable with threading cards & warping a loom. The student should also be comfortable with turning a full pack of cards, reading a basic pattern, advancing the warp, & tension & beating.

Materials to be provided by/additional instructions for students

• Please bring pen/paper to take notes and a desire to learn a new skill.
• Please bring a lunch or snack if you would like. Access to a refrigerator and microwave are available in the building.
