Amigurumi Workshop
Our workshop covers the basic techniques and concepts for making crocheted stuffies. We’ll be making two spheres to practice stitching that’s used most in the art of Amigurumi making. You’ll learn how to make a magic ring, work the single crochet decrease and single crochet increase stitch. The second sphere will be a repeat of the first, with one main difference: all single crochet stitches are crossed. The two spheres, once made, will demonstrate how the two single crochet versions shape a stuffy.
Bring yarn and hook (see below for full list of materials), we’ll supply the stuffing.
Skill Level: comfortable working a sc. NOTE: if you do not remember how to make a sc, please review and practice before the class. This will allow for focused learning, practicing skills introduced in the class for all those signed up for the class.
Please bring: US 6 / 4 mm hook, scissors, darning needle, one removable stitch marker.
Materials Included: Enough poly fill toy stuffing and worsted weight yarn to make two spheres.
Homework: bring and a notebook and pen (optional) if you want to take additional notes. Review working the sc stitch, if you haven’t crochet in a while.
Please note: the classroom is up 14 steps.
