Old Dogs New Tricks - Men's Club

We had a fantastically successful first evening for the launch of the men’s group, kicking off with a cooking demonstration by The Little Indian. It was brilliant to see such a great turnout. Not really knowing what to expect, it was lovely to see everyone chatting, relaxing, and enjoying themselves — and we hope some of you have even tried making your own curry since!

On the night, we asked for feedback about the kinds of activities you’d like to try. The foody ideas definitely came out on top! While we’d love to introduce some more creative activities in the future, we’re very happy to ease you into things.

So, we’re pleased to say the next session is still a food-based one — but this time you won’t just be watching. You’ll be rolling up your sleeves and getting your hands dirty… well, chocolatey!

Our next activity will be making caramel-filled chocolates with our tutor Jen, also known as The Cookie Fairy. This is a really popular session with our women’s groups, and we think you’ll love it too. You may (or may not!) leave with some delicious handmade chocolates — depending on how good your willpower is.

This group is made possible thanks to Point North and the Enriching Later Lives Fund. The aim is to create a relaxed space where men can get together, try new hobbies, share a laugh, and maybe even pick up a new skill or two to carry into later life.

This group is still a blank canvas — we’ll shape future sessions around what you’re interested in.

The group is free for men aged 55+. If you’re under 55, please email us for details.

So come along, have a chat, try something new — and help us shape this new group. We’d love to see you there!
