This training will provide a detailed understanding of opioid overdose and response, as well as emerging trends in the drug supply (fentanyl and other synthetic opioids, Xylazine, etc.) that continue to fuel the overdose crisis. Participants will gain an understanding of different opioids and their effects, how to recognize the signs and symptoms of an opioid overdose, and how to respond to such an event. The training will provide important information on Naloxone and how to use this life-saving tool to reverse an opioid overdose and will include an overview of Florida's Good Samaritan Laws, as well as a brief overview of harm reduction practices and principles.
